Vodafone is reportedly offering free Vodafone 4G data for free to users upgrading from 3G cards to 4G cards. This offer is currently limited to UP West and Uttrakhand users. The news comes off an announcement on this

While this seems very tempting, activating this offer is rather tough. Users will have to apply for a new 4G SIM card at their nearest Vodafone stores or dial 199 to order one to their doorstep.

Once that’s available, send SIMEX to 55199 which will respond with a half-constructed SIM number. Reply to the conversation with the last 6 digits of the new 4G SIM card to activate this.

Note that one has to insert the 4G card in a 4G smartphone to unlock this offer.

Commenting on this offer, Vodafone said that this offer will last only for a period of 10 days from the day of activation. There is no news on whether this will be available to all Vodafone users across other states.

Vodafone is currently the third largest mobile network player in India, which is dominated by Airtel and Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited in the first and second positions. Via.
