Uber announced the launched on uberHire yesterday morning. The new fleet uberHire allows users to book rental cab packages to take rides across the ride on a timely+distance travelled basis.

uberHire is available in 9 cities in India currently – Chennai, New Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai, Pune, Vizag, Nagpur, Ahmedabad and Kochi. Interestingly, Ola Rentals is available in over 80 cities in India.

uberHire offers cab hiring options for upto 12 hours. Currently available from 4am to 8pm, uberHire can be held for as low as Rs 449 for a 20km ride/1.5 hours. Currently uberHire is available only with cash payments. Paytm and debit card payments to be available at a later stage. Uber does not charge dynamic or surge pricing on uberHire for the time being.
