Shortly after having enabled Rs 145 and Rs 345 schemes for Airtel prepaid users, the company is leaving no stone unturned to keep its postpaid users alive. In a recent mailer sent by India’s leading telecom operator’s CEO, the company confirmed that Airtel will be enabling unlimited calls and free 1GB 4G usage daily for postpaid users with special packs like the ones allotted to prepaid users, starting March 13.
Starting March 13, postpaid users can access the offer on the company’s mobile app, MyAirtel app, to enable the said offer.
The news comes shortly after the operator was tagged the fasted mobile network in India, on a recent study the popular speed test organisation Ookla.
In the mailer, Govind Vittal, CEO of Airtel said, “We are celebrating your brand Airtel being declared India’s fastest mobile network. Coming from the world’s largest and most credible speed test organisation, Ookla, this is no mean feat. You know our celebrations would be incomplete without you. And we want to thank you our valued postpaid customer, you, for being part of our journey. Because words do not suffice, we would like to give you an Airtel Surprise”.
In a supportive comment, Vijay Sekhar, CEO and founder of Paytm, claims that he is a postpaid customer and is able to the see Airtel Surprises offer already on the MyAirtel iOS app. Visibly he was shown an offer for getting 4G data upto 10GB at the cost of Rs 100, but ended up receiving 6GB in his account. Same seems to be case with a few other users who seem to use the MyAirtel app, but have visibly got higher data. It is unsure how Airtel is offering data value to customers. Have you got yours yet?
One word of caution that needs to be noticed though. Users after getting the free 4G bonus data should not roll down or upgrade to a different Airtel postpaid plan. Such an activity might result in the termination of the bonus provided.
